Lundbeck says wins appeal in UK Cipralex patent case

Danish pharmaceutical group Lundbeck said on Friday it won an appeal in a patent case in a UK court regarding the active ingredient in its anti-depressant drug Cipralex against Israeli generic drug maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
Teva won an initial decision in a lower court in May last year. Lundbeck\'s Director of Investor Relations, Jacob Tolstrup, said the decision meant that the drug is now under patent in Britain until 2014.
Lundbeck generates the majority of its revenue from Cipralex, sold in the United States as Lexapro. Tolstrup said Teva now has to decide whether to appeal to the House of Lords. |
