hiring a patent attory may cost you too much. in fact, few cases will end up in court, so the general rules apply. if you are a patent engineer, I guess you can read more books about US patent law to solve your problem.

Well, getting sued may cost you more than hiring a patent attorney....

Report this matter, especially related risks, to your boss, and ask, in writing, certain budget for locating and retaining a U.S. patent attorney.  If the company grants no such budget, you will be cleared of liabilities once infringement may become an issue in the future.

根据全面覆盖原则，只要不是全面覆盖对方的技术特征，不算侵权
因此，在规避创新点的时候，就需要仔细比对双方的技术特征了
