从意思理解肯定是后者
从语法角度理解，无论是就近原则还从是所使用的“do”判断，也是后者。

不知道楼主为什么会想到从句是修饰the present invention，从句中也有一个 theinvention，不是逻辑不通吗？这个问题本来就不应该问。

有問題才有提高，路是一步一步走出來的，一般來說修飾詞的使用是很平常的，一般是用來修飾其他成分的字、片語、或者子句。名詞、形容詞、形容詞子句、分詞都可以作名詞或者代名詞的修飾詞，而且一般都遵守就近原則。

附图和实施例

1.你可以试着用the invention 翻译看看，意思就不大通，“本发明不限制本发明的范围？”，说着顺，意思也不合逻辑；

2.如果从句的主语依然指的是主句主语（the invention），那么就不会用which了，直接说and will 。。。。。。或者 it will。。。。。。

3.the invention 是单数，所以不匹配do。
