看一下这个句型吧

在翻译专利文献中经常会遇到这样的句型，翻译出来的意思即便相似，当时总觉得不妥，各位看一下吧，帮忙分析分析。

温度被选择如此以至在冷却至常温之上。
觉得怪死了。
2 each element is chosen such as to form a compound with hydrogen in the ionised gas
每个元素被选择如下与在电离气体内的氢形成化合物。
这样翻译觉得很怪，但是又不能偏离such as的意思。

such as:如;     例如;     比如;    例如;    比如;    例如...;    象这种的
be such that:是如此以至

设定温度在冷却温度与常温之间

选定每个元素，使之在电离气体中与氢（气／元素）形成化合物

先谢了，不过第一句怎么会是在冷却温度和常温之间呢，明明upon啊，难道upon……to有在什么什么之间的意思吗？

其实这个问题涉及技术层面

单从英文是看不大出了的

可不可以这样考虑第一句upon 和cooling to 都接common temperature,
翻译为在常温之上，并冷却至常温

好像是说的从高温冷却到室温，而选定的温度要达到那个高温或以上，不知道是不是？

这样译行吗？

这是思维方式的问题，与专业无关。主语和谓语表示要做的事情，such that或 such as to 表示做事的目的。具体翻译，按这个意思用中文的方式表达就OK了。
另外，upon表示“当......时”的意思。
